In a blog post, New Zealand's Office of the Privacy Commissioner discussed the latest round of amendments to the Privacy Act 2020, which is now scheduled to take force Dec. 1. Provisions for absolving employees of data breach liability, new maximum payouts for class-action members, and requirements for the appropriate collection of children's data are among the other notable updates. The current draft will be read in Parliament before a final approval.
