Privacy Commissioner of New Zealand Michael Webster issued a statement regarding concerns around Twitter's new limitations on two-factor authentication. The verification system for all New Zealand Twitter accounts ended 20 March as free accounts had eligibility revoked. "Privacy should not be something available only to people who can pay for it. Privacy is a basic right," Webster said, asking free Twitter users to be more privacy conscious with the data they share to the platform moving forward.
