Alberta Health Services announced a Fox Creek Healthcare Centre nurse has been fined $3,000 for violating the Health Information Act, the Edmonton Journal reports. Jasmine Badger pleaded guilty to illicitly accessing the information of two individuals. The two people requested audit logs of instances when their information was accessed by Alberta Netcare, finding their data was accessed at FCHE despite the fact neither had ever been a patient at the facility. The pair filed a complaint with the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta. AHS said in a statement Badger will be monitored for future access violations and has completed remedial privacy training.
