New South Wales formed a task force that will study and monitor cybersecurity and privacy practices across government. The creation of the group, headed by NSW Department of Customer Service Secretary Emma Hogan, stems from a government data breach in April that affected more than 186,000 consumers. Hogan said the government has "invested heavily in both helping customers recover and also in understanding what went wrong," while noting a collaboration with NSW's Information and Privacy Commission to "embed privacy principles within the way we work."
