The COVID-19 pandemic has forced migration to virtual classrooms, and privacy concerns have risen with this shift to digital learning. Concerned about the trends she had been seeing, U.S. National Security Agency Civil Liberties, Privacy, and Transparency Office Director Rebecca Richards, CIPP/G, CIPP/US, felt she needed to apply her day job with her role as a parent. "Though not something I had expected, it seemed to me this was an important teachable moment for the school and kids about how to make thoughtful choices for privacy, civil liberties and teaching," Richards writes.
