With results expected to be published next month, Privacy Commission Chairman Raymund Liboro hinted that a recent inspection of banks’ mobile apps and web services turned up violations of Philippine privacy laws, The Manila Times reports. “[We are checking] who are excessively [asking for personal information], who are collecting [data] disproportionately,” Liboro said. “They have to come up with a very good explanation on why so many [pieces of] data are being collected, kept and maintained.”
