Catherine Tully, the information and privacy commissioner of Nova Scotia, has said surveillance cameras at a Cape Breton school still have security issues, CBC News reports. The report comes months after news that the camera footage of students had been leaked online. Tully's report found "inadequate passwords and insufficient technical controls" were contributors to the initial breach, and while passwords have been updated, the school has not yet placed the data streams behind any firewalls, and two of the cameras are no longer supported by the manufacturer. Tully said, "Security problems arise constantly, they change, people hack things in different ways, so you have to be nimble, you have to adjust your technology to adapt to those risks, and they can no longer do that with the existing cameras."
