I am delighted to have the opportunity to open this week’s digest.

It is a significant week for iappANZ, as we welcome world-class speakers and delegates to our final annual Summit, entitled: “Privacy: Handling the Seismic Shift.” This year, we welcome nearly 200 attendees — our largest cohort ever — and some of the world’s best speakers. We are delighted to have the IAPP’s J. Trevor Hughes, Tory Bell and Mindy Moore in attendance, as well.

Ten years after our inception under an affiliate arrangement with the IAPP, iappANZ has a lot to be proud of, particularly the efforts of a great many people who built and grew the association, helping to pave the way for future leadership by the IAPP in this region.

Next year, the current board of iappANZ will become the IAPP ANZ Advisory Board. We look forward to commencing this next chapter and working closely with the IAPP team to continue the good work already underway, with a fresh new approach and greater access to international resources and networks.

Working with the IAPP team over the past year has enhanced my appreciation for its global scale and resources. For readers in Australia and New Zealand, I hope you will continue your memberships and sponsorships next year directly with the IAPP, making the most of all it offers to connect you with a global community.
