It's been a busy week for privacy in Canada, evidenced in the articles you'll find below. And it's not over yet!

Among other things, new Snowden documents were released; new public opinion poll results about privacy were revealed; privacy peeps from coast to coast to coast marked Data Privacy Day (some with beverages!), and by the time this Digest is published, new antiterror legislation is likely to have been tabled.

The bottom line to all of this stuff is that it's clear people care about privacy. The statistics are very encouraging from that point of view. And the number of people who showed up at the Ottawa Privacy After Hours (about 60!) is revealing, too. Sometimes I feel like we’re still just at the beginning of this new privacy industry. It’s been around for a while now, but with the rapid rate of change and extraordinary new developments that pop up all the time, everything seems to always feel new. I hope the new car smell stays with us for a bit longer!

Have a great weekend.
