If we are connected on LinkedIn (if we aren’t, maybe we should be), you might have seen my post earlier this week announcing that registration for the IAPP Canada Privacy Symposium is now live. For the past few years, the conference has been sold out so we are adding space this year. That being said, there’s still a chance that we reach capacity, so please register early. Besides, there’s an early bird rate to take advantage of.

The program is nearly complete, and you can view it here. You’ll see that some of the best-rated sessions are returning, like the legal update by Alex Cameron or the OPC’s Sneak Peak that gives a glimpse as to the inner-workings at the federal commissioner’s office.

There’s also some new stuff to sink your teeth into. We have sessions on AI, blockchain and even a session where Canadian privacy will be linked to Star Wars!

We have two keynote speakers confirmed and two more who are “thinking about it” (I’m sure they will say yes and, once announced, you’ll be glad to have registered early to secure your spot). Oh, and at the end of the first day, we will hold our annual Commissioner’s Game Show. It’s shaping up to be a good one.

So, while we are marred in one of the harshest winters in recent memory, think ahead to late May and start planning on attending a great event.

Have a great weekend.
