Norway's data protection authority, Datatilysnet, is seeking information from the majority political parties in Stavanger after residents received campaign emails ahead of municipal elections. Multiple residents lodged complaints with Datatilsynet, which is investigating if the municipality legally released the affected residents' personal information under the Public Information Act and if the parties processed their personal information legally under the act.
