In a joint consultation with the Norwegian Consumer Agency responding to the proposed Electronic Communications Act, Norway's data protection authority, Datatilsynet, asked the Ministry of Local Government and Modernization to remove the ability to collect consent from users through technical means and grant the DPA supervisory competence over all cookie tracking. Meanwhile, France's DPA, the Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés, published a blog post revisiting the requirements third-party cookie replacements must meet in light of companies looking to replace them.
