The New Mexico Supreme Court ruled that banking records are not subject to reasonable expectations of privacy under the New Mexico Constitution, the Albuquerque Journal reports. That’s because the records, the court ruled, are voluntarily shared with a third party, such as a bank. Meanwhile, Wisconsin parents who claimed data privacy laws were broken when their 16-year-old son’s name and mental health details were released following his death have settled a lawsuit with Carver County for $450,000.
