The U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology released new guidance for performing assessments of privacy and security controls within systems and organizations. NIST explained its suggested procedures are "customizable and can be easily tailored to provide organizations with the needed flexibility to conduct" their assessments with an eye toward organizational risk management processes. The guide also contains information on building effective security and privacy assessment plans and analyzing assessment results.
