The National Institute of Standards and Technology outlined its cybersecurity and privacy priorities for 2021 and the coming years. The organization listed nine areas of focus, including examining new approaches to encryption and data protection and securing emerging technologies. In 2021, NIST aims to “increase our attention on managing cybersecurity risks,” “pay greater heed to the intersection between cybersecurity and privacy” and to “engage more forthrightly internationally and in our cross-cutting standards work.”
