Privacy engineering is a growing field, and the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology wants to bring more attention to this developing area of the industry. NIST has launched its Privacy Engineering Collaboration Space, an online open-sourced venue where privacy practitioners can make contributions to the field. NIST has asked participants to focus their efforts on privacy risk management and de-identification. Privacy practitioners can offer up tools, use cases and feedback on the two topics as the space enters its first couple of weeks. IAPP Associate Editor Ryan Chiavetta, CIPP/US, spoke with NIST Privacy Risk Strategist Kaitlin Boeckl and Senior Privacy Policy Advisor Naomi Lefkovitz about the launch of the project, as well as Kuma's Jenn Behrens, CIPP/G, CIPP/US, CIPM, FIP.
