The National Institute of Standards and Technology will host a workshop May 18 in order to receive feedback on incorporating privacy into the next revision of NIST Special Publication 800-53A. NIST seeks to learn about the current practices of privacy practitioners for the publication, titled “Assessing Security and Privacy Controls in Federal Information Systems.” The agency, in particular, wants to know the ways practitioners develop procedures for assessing privacy controls and the challenges they currently face. NIST is calling for privacy and security engineers, privacy and security officers, and other privacy and security professionals to attend the workshop. Registration closes May 11.
