The U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology announced it is extending the deadline for input on its privacy framework until Jan. 14. The agency aims for the framework to “be a voluntary tool for organizations to better identify, assess, manage, and communicate about privacy risks” in order for individuals to better trust their information will be safe when they use new technologies. NIST has asked for organizational considerations on privacy risk management, the structure of the framework, and specific privacy practices to be incorporated.
