The IAPP awarded Nicole Wong with its 2021 Privacy Leadership Award in a virtual ceremony Monday during the Global Privacy Summit Online 2021. Wong previously served as deputy U.S. chief technology officer under former President Barack Obama with prominent privacy-focused roles at Twitter and Google before that. Wong spoke with IAPP Staff Writer Joe Duball about the body of work that led to her recognition.

Kirk Nahra wins IAPP Vanguard Award

WilmerHale Partner and Cybersecurity and Privacy Practice Co-Chair Kirk Nahra, CIPP/US, was also honored Monday, selected as the IAPP's 2021 Vanguard Award recipient. Nahra's work with WilmerHale started in 2019, but his efforts and leadership in the privacy space date back to 1999. IAPP Staff Writer Jennifer Bryant caught up with Nahra to discuss his dedication to the field of privacy.
