The Union Leader reports on New Hampshire’s recently passed constitutional amendment that enshrines individual privacy rights in the state constitution. Neal Kurk, republican state representative and sponsor of the ballot question, said the amount of available information gave him reason to fear that “our roles as individuals in a free nation and a free state could be significantly circumscribed and our opportunities substantially limited if these technological changes are allowed to proceed without some sort of limitation.” Kurk added, “The amendment is not an absolute ban on the state collecting personal or private information. It’s simply a statement of principle.”
