The Internet Society of France, a nongovernmental organization advocating for online rights, sent a formal notice to Facebook and its subsidiaries, warning it will launch an effort for group action if the company does not secure user data, Bloomberg Law reports. Hoping to gather 100,000 EU data subjects to join the complaint, the group wants the company to pay 100 million euros and resolve any issues stemming from the recent data breaches and security incidents. Facebook has four months to respond before the group formally launches legal action with the Court of First Instance of Paris.
