With the goal of improving health and happiness, businesses are in the early stages of developing the next generation of health and wellness devices, The Wall Street Journal reports. Some of the technology is in early development, which will include passive home devices that detect early signs of illness. Smart thermometers and blood-glucose monitors are widespread in their use, but their makers see "untapped potential" in the personal data they collect. Some of the untapped data includes the fields of medicine, dental hygiene, hydration, sleep and pet health.
