New Zealand Privacy Commissioner John Edwards was selected as the top candidate to lead the U.K. Information Commissioner's Office, NZ Herald reports. An independent panel tapped Edwards to replace current U.K. Information Commissioner Elizabeth Denham, whose tenure at the ICO will end later this year. London Stock Exchange Group Chief Privacy Officer Vivienne Artz, who currently serves on the IAPP's board of directors, has also been deemed a possible candidate for the position, sources told the U.K. Sunday Times. According to the report, the appointment is awaiting Prime Minister Boris Johnson's approval.
