The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of New Zealand issued a public consultation for biometric technology use in the country. The OPC seeks to ensure entities have proper guidance and regulations that allow for innovation using biometric information and to protect peoples’ privacy. The public input period follows a consultation paper titled “Privacy Regulation of Biometrics in Aotearoa New Zealand,” and will solicit feedback through Sept. 30.
