A New Zealand family discovered a hidden camera in their Cork, Ireland, Airbnb, CNN reports. Andrew Barker discovered the camera livestreaming from the living room of the Airbnb as he scanned for a Wi-Fi network. Airbnb temporarily suspended the listing of the house; however, it did not permanently ban the location until the family posted about the situation on Facebook. Irish Data Protection Commissioner Communications Manager Aoife Mullen said the agency is aware of the situation and "we will be seeking further information from Airbnb on the matter." "The safety and privacy of our community — both online and offline — is our priority. Airbnb policies strictly prohibit hidden cameras in listings and we take reports of any violations extremely seriously," Airbnb said in a statement. The Irish Times further reports on Airbnb's policies on surveillance and recording devices.
