The Himalayan Times reports new rules issued by the government of Nepal allow government offices to install closed-circuit TV cameras in public places and vehicles for security purposes. The offices must work in conjunction with local police departments before the cameras can go live. Those police departments will be in charge of gathering any information collected by the cameras before sending the data to a "concerned district administration office," the rules state.
