The Future of Privacy Forum announced the Civic Data Privacy Leaders Network, a collaborative designed to provide an active resource for municipal leaders as they navigate emerging privacy issues. Formed in partnership with the MetroLab Network and with the support of the National Science Foundation, the network is hoping to share practical guidance and promote fair and transparent data practice to municipal leaders. Meanwhile, several U.S. cities were found to have requested location data from thousands of scooters after a guide from data analysis company Remix was discovered online, instructing cities on how to guide negotiations with scooter companies and avoid Freedom of Information requests.
