ZDNet reports Australia's National Transport Commission has called for new regulations that would limit the government's collection of vehicle data. The NTC has been examining government access to the data and whether the current collection methods carry sufficient privacy protections. "Data generated by these technologies has the potential to inform and enhance government decision making, but at the same time this technology raises potential new privacy challenges for individuals," the NTC wrote in its "Regulating government access to C-ITS and automated vehicle data" policy paper.
