Nahra explained the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is examining the idea of potentially streamlining regulatory burdens and that health-related social media sites, as well as health apps, could find themselves covered under HIPAA in the future. In a separate interview, Rebecca Herold, CIPP/US, CIPM, CIPT, FIP, offers predictions for health care data privacy and security for the year ahead.
