A pair of individuals associated with the Cambridge Analytica revelations will testify Friday in front of the New York Senate Committee on Consumer Protection, Internet and Technology, the New York Daily News reports. Former Cambridge Analytica Business Development Director Brittany Kaiser and Parsons School of Design Associate Professor David Carroll will discuss why they shed light on the firm’s data-harvesting practices. State lawmakers are hosting the hearing as part of their efforts to protect citizens’ personal data. “Privacy is a right that all of us have and currently with social media and big tech they’ve been just compiling a lot of data on us, making profiles, making money and exploiting all the information they have on us,” said Sen. Kevin Thomas, D-N.Y.
