A Maryland state senator said he would reintroduce a bill to regulate police use of facial recognition after the arrest of a Black man who was misidentified by facial recognition as a suspect in an assault of a bus driver, Wired reports. The publication found "a handful" of occurrences where innocent people were misidentified and arrested after police used facial recognition technology. In all the cases, each misidentified individual was a Black man.
