The Columbia Missourian reports MU Health Care experienced a data breach that may have affected as many as 180,000 patients. The health care organization said the information was accessed via a phishing attack that compromised a staff member's email address. The breached data included birthdates, medical records, health insurance information and, in some cases, Social Security and driver's license numbers. Meanwhile, a breach of the Department of Veterans Affairs may have also impacted 17,000 community care providers.
