Ashley Madison continues to find itself in hot water as eight U.S. users sued the online entity, citing “negligence, breach of contract and privacy violations,” The Boston Globe reports. “Needless to say, this dumping of sensitive personal and financial information is bound to have catastrophic effects on the lives of the website’s users,” said an anonymous Los Angeles-based victim in his lawsuit filing. Impact Team, the group behind the breach, has potential legal trouble of its own, with Canadian authorities charging the as-of-yet anonymous hackers with “theft, extortion and criminal harassment,” among other allegations. Meanwhile, government organizations in California are investigating employee computers to see if public resources were utilized to access the site.
