TechCrunch reports researchers at MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab devised a wireless system that allows for contact-free tracking of patients at care facilities in a privacy-preserving manner. The system functions off wireless signals that catch recognized movements from various activities learned by the system. The research team hopes the system can be an alternative to closed-circuit TV or other forms of video monitoring for communal care facilities or elderly that live alone.
