The U.S. Department of Defense revealed the personal information of approximately 200,000 service members may have been compromised, NBC News reports. The breach, which occurred in May and June of 2019, affected a system hosted by the Defense Information Systems Agency containing Social Security numbers and other personal information. The information is not believed to have been misused. A Pentagon spokesman said the breach, discovered during a routine security check, has been fixed.
