Commissioner Mignon Clyburn announced she will be stepping down from her position at the U.S. Federal Communications Commission, Politico reports. Clyburn made the announcement during an FCC meeting, saying she will leave the agency before its next scheduled meeting May 10. Clyburn was appointed to the FCC in 2009 by President Barack Obama and helped passed the net neutrality rules in 2015. Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., has recommended FCC Enforcement Bureau Assistant Chief Geoffrey Starks to take over Clyburn’s position when she steps down.
