According to Yahoo News, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella spoke at the World Economic Forum on how data privacy should be considered a human right. Nadella said his line of thinking on privacy rights stems from the EU General Data Protection Regulation. "In our case, we took that regulation and we are in fact hoping to see more of a federal standard in the United States and in the world over," Nadella said. "And in fact we have taken some of the subject rights of GDPR and made them available worldwide." Meanwhile, ZDNet reports five Microsoft servers holding a combined 250 million records, including email addresses, IP addresses and support case details, were exposed in December 2019, according to Microsoft.
