Facebook’s parent company, Meta Platforms, is facing a $3.2 billion class-action lawsuit in the U.K. alleging it exploited 44 million users’ personal data, Reuters reports. Financial Conduct Authority Senior Advisor Liza Lovdahl Gormsen brought forward the lawsuit on behalf of British Facebook users between 2015 and 2019, alleging the company required consumers to provide personal data to access the platform. Facebook said users “have meaningful control of what information they share on Meta’s platforms and who with.”
