Meta is facing a "potentially large fine" from Ireland's Data Protection Commission over children’s data processing violations on its Instagram platform, The Irish Times reports. Six European data regulators have refused to support proposed penalties against Instagram and the European Data Protection Board said it received a formal submission, describing it as “the first step in the triggering of the dispute resolution mechanism.” Meta said it continues “to engage with the DPC on all relevant matters,” while the DPC did not comment.
