Parliament Internal Market Committee Chair MEP Anna Cavazzini said EU lawmakers will have to address questions raised following last week’s insurrection in the U.S. Capitol as part of talks on the Digital Services Act, Euractiv reports. Cavazzini said “eyes have been opened” to the challenge of addressing misinformation online, noting platforms’ actions following the riots raise “serious questions” about social media’s role in regulating online content.
