In this installment, Alibaba Cloud's ShanShan Pa, CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, FIP, compares Hong Kong's Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance with the GDPR. Hong Kong's ordinance came into effect just after the European Data Protection Directive, with an amendment bill in 2012, and many of its principles are similar to the directive. Pa offers an overview of the six data protection principles within Hong Kong's ordinance and provides a side-by-side comparison chart of key points with those in the GDPR.
