Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey launched an online portal designed to allow businesses and organizations to report data breaches, The Associated Press reports. Healey said the portal will make it easier for any organization suffering a breach to alert her office. The attorney general’s office has been notified of 21,000 breaches since November 2007, with 3,821 breaches affecting more than 3.2 million residents in 2017. Massachusetts state law requires any entity owning or licensing personal information to notify Healey’s office any time data is compromised.
