The Manitoba Metis Federation is filing a human rights complaint against the Manitoba province alleging discrimination over the collection and sharing of COVID-19 data, CBC News reports. The federation said the province has not created a data-sharing agreement that would notify it when Metis people test positive, so it has been relying on word of mouth, according to Manitoba Metis Federation Health Minister Frances Chartrand. The federation also wants to ensure those with COVID-19 who self-identify as Metis are, in fact, Metis citizens.
