Canadian email service provider Mailchimp and Shopify are parting ways over Shopify's new app store terms and its effects on customer privacy, the Ottawa Business Journal reports. The updated terms ask Shopify's partners to divulge all relevant customer data with fellow merchants using the app store, which Mailchimp said will "jeopardize (its) users’ privacy and require (it) to hand over customer data acquired outside of Shopify." Shopify said in a response Mailchimp's unwillingness to abide by the new terms impacts its own ability to follow privacy regulations.
