By now, privacy professionals are well versed in the details of the Court of the Justice of the European Union's "Schrems II" ruling. IAPP Senior Westin Research Fellow Müge Fazlioglu, CIPP/E, CIPP/US, looks at one of the central consequences of the ruling that is the rise in uncertainty around trans-Atlantic and international data transfers. "Untangling the implications of the court’s findings has proved significantly challenging for privacy observers, regulators and professionals alike," she writes. "While the judgment has been clarifying in some respects, it has been mystifying in others."
