The Standard reports that in Asia, attitudes around privacy vary greatly from place to place. “Hong Kong's privacy protection level is rather high for the region, with laws having been in place for more than a decade and the legal regime being refined continuously,” the report states, suggesting that is the reason “officials from neighboring countries often come here to exchange views on the subject and to learn from our experience.” The report looks at this year’s promotional activities form the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data.
