Lithuania's State Data Protection Inspectorate announced it has fined Latvia-based electronic payment company UAB MisterTango 61,500 euros for violations of the EU General Data Protection Regulation. An investigation by the Inspectorate and the Latvian Personal Data Protection Authority found MisterTango was improperly processing and disclosing data while it failed to report a data breach. Inspectorate's evaluation of MisterTango's data processing revealed the types of data the company collected were excessive and its data storage lasted longer than customers were led to believe. The unauthorized disclosure and unreported breach are tied to a list of MisterTango payments posted on a website from July 9 to 10, 2018.
