MediaPost reports technology company Lisnr is fighting back against a privacy lawsuit alleging it helped the Indianapolis Colts football team listen in on their fans. Lisnr was sued in 2016 over allegations its technology tapped into users’ microphones via the Colts’ app in order to send ads and content based on location information. In a counterclaim, Lisnr states it suffered from “malicious prosecution,” specifically calling out the Edelson law firm for defaming the tech company. Lisnr said it did not violate federal wiretap laws, while shooting down arguments made by Edelson and the plaintiff regarding the use of audio data.
