LifeLabs agreed to comply with orders from the information and privacy commissioners of Ontario and British Columbia recommended in an investigation report of a 2019 data breach. The medical laboratory services company is, however, seeking a court order to block public release of the report, claiming it contains confidential information. A summary of the investigation released last month found LifeLabs violated privacy laws and failed to take necessary action to protect health data.
