In a joint statement, U.S. Reps. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., and Warren Davidson, R-Ohio, urged reform of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act's Section 702. Jayapal and Davidson called to "overhaul privacy protections for Americans so that they truly protect the civil rights, civil liberties, and privacy rights that are foundational to our democracy." Meanwhile, a coalition of privacy-minded groups said reforms should extend beyond Section 702 to include other surveillance powers.
